Corkbuzz is owned and operated by Master Sommelier Laura Maniec. With over 35 wines by the class, blind tasting happy hour, and weekly wine classes, it is a haven for people who share a passion for wine. Corkbuzz’s Bourguignon Burger is topped with red wine fondue and bacon-mushroom relish, with pomme frites on the side. Sommelier Chris Raferty chose Napa Valley Grignolino to pair with it, a somewhat obscure varietal originally from Piedmont. Fruit-forward with medium-body, the Grignolino absorbs flavors from the red wine fondue and amplifies the lighter notes of this sumptuous burger!

About Chris Raftery – Sommelier

Chris Raftery grew up in a small town on the south shore of Massachusetts. Studying abroad in Italy during his final year at UMass Amherst, where he studied marketing, Chris fell in love with food, wine and hospitality. Upon his return to the states, Chris saw New York City as the natural choice to pursue a food-and-drink-related career. He worked at the Westin, Fork & Knife, and Momofuku before joining Corkbuzz. Chris is currently at his Advanced level through the Court of Master Sommeliers, pursuing his MS certification.
