“A classic burger paired with a classic Cab.” – Brian Jontow, Wine Director

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Once a secluded speakeasy, Gallagher’s Steakhouse is now a bastion of old school cool serving up some of the best dry-aged meats in the city. Their burger is 10 ounces of prime beef topped with caramelized onions, Vermont cheddar, and smokey bacon strips—AKA a surefire classic. On the wine side, Gallagher’s is pouring Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, one of the quintessential varietals of California with the bold flavors needed to complement the Prime Beef Burger.

About Brian Jontow – Wine Director

Brian Jontow’s original wine training began with Harriet Lembeck’s Wine & Spirits Course. He then began tasting the big reds of California and Bordeaux while working at Smith & Wollensky’s. He moved on to Pizzico and began to study Italian wines and wines of Loire and Provence. At Ben Benson’s he developed the wine list that eventually became a Wine Spectator Best of Excellence award winner. Now, as both the General Manager and Wine Director at Gallagher’s Steakhouse, Brian brings his knowledge to the current wine program.
